Adamello Brenta Nature Park
The landscape of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park is characterised by the magic of a white blanket of snow and the play of lights created by the sun lighting up the winter environment.
Like in a theatre play, Alpine meadows, pastures and green forests go backstage and the landscape sends rarities on stage which can express their charm only in the wintertime.
Cascades and waterways immobilized by ice delineate curious ice sculptures; mountain dairies and hay lofts disappear under a white snow blanket, valleys inaccessible to motor vehicles find peace and silence once again, the glaciers recover their imposing extension and the rosy colour of the Brenta Dolomites seems to be veined with white brush marks.
Animals and plants cling to life with all their strength, adapting themselves ingeniously to the harsh conditions that put their survival to the test. Thus, while brown bears, marmots and dormice abandon themselves to hibernation, the animals that stay awake during winter must find a way to resist dangers. Golden eagles, capercaillies, wild goats, deers, chamoix, hares, ptarmigans and all of the other animals populating the park change their appearance, growing white winter coats and thicker plumage to protect them from cold and from predators.
Their discreet presence is revealed by clear traces left on the snow mantle: a trail of footprints, a few feathers, galleries dug in the snow become extraordinary discoveries we can be enthusiastic about.
This is the uncontaminated nature of the park in winter, which we invite you to discover far away from the confusion of the ski runs, seeking an intimate relationship with nature.
Excursions
During the winter months, quiet and peace allow us to forget the midsummer crowds and to enjoy the Park almost exclusively to ourselves.
With snowshoes or downhill skis, alone or, even better, accompanied by an Alpine guide in total safety, we can reach enchanting places and enjoy fairytale scenarios that can be seen only in winter.
