The Maso Pomarolli farm stands in the heart of the Cembra valley, in the very middle of the Trentino region, at just one kilometre away from the village Palù di Giovo, famous place of birth of champions of Italian cycling such as the Moser brothers and Gilberto Simoni. Genuineness and tradition. These two simple but meaningful words can describe the lifestyle at the Maso Pomarolli farm.

Vineyards and fine wines in Giovo
The distinctive features of the landscape in Giovo are definitely the vineyards – a tradition in Val di Cembra. Giovo is a wine manufacturing centre, where fine wines such as Müller Thurgau, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are produced. One of the most renowned and longed-for events is actually Festa dell’Uva.
The picturesque vineyards look like beautiful paintings and the pergolas create sloping and terraced curves to the valley of the river Avisio. In addition to vine-growing, the climate is particularly favourable for fruit production, especially apple.
Giovo contains some frazioni: Mosana Masen, Verla, Valternigo, Palù, Ceola and Ville. This area provides an extensive range of hiking and mountain biking opportunities, and a special mention goes to project “Park and Walk”. Worth a visit is also the hill with the ancient church of San Floriano in Valternigo and the remains of the church of San Giorgio.
Framed by a striking landscape decorated with vine trellises, Giovo manufactures some of the best wines of the region
When people speak of Giovo, they automatically think of vine-growing - a tradition of Val di Cembra. It seems that vines here are almost painted into the landscape, with their trellises gently sloping down on the alluvial sand terraces, which lead to the bottom of the Valle dell'Avisio valley. Lots of fairly age-old huge trees can be found here too.
Giovo is a renowned winemanufacturing centre benefitting from Müller Thurgau, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. One of the most popular and longed-for events of the area is Festa dell´Uva, the grapes festival.
The climate here is also particularly favourable for fruit growing, especially apples.
Giovo includes the administrative districts of Mosana, Verla, Palù, Valternigo, Ville, Masen, and Ceola.
The area also provides visitors with a wide range of opportunities for hiking and bike-tourism, such as all the tours suggested by the "Park and Walk" project.
The remains of the church of San Giorgio are to be found on the top of a hill with spectacular views, and are definitely worth a visit - and together with it, the ancient church of San Floriano at Valternigo.
