Lakes, vineyards, biotopes, traditional food and wines and sports: the ideal choice for wellbeing-focussed holidays
The Pinè Plateau and the Valle di Cembra valley is a gentle mountain area, its landscape being dotted with small towns, villages, meadows and woods. Several areas are of high naturalistic interest; Langhestel biotopes and the Grave are proof of still living ecosystems. The Plateau also features several lakes, among which Lake Serraia and Lake Piazze are the largest. Special mention goes to the Earth Pyramids of Segonzano. These unique geological formations are a unique natural feature of the landscape here.
The Valle di Cembra valley stands out for its terraces stretched on steep, sunny slopes planted with vines, from which both wines (Müller-Thurgau) and top-quality schnapps are manufactured.
Foodies will also enjoy local cuisine, which features genuine flavours rooted in the tradition of the area, such as a wide range of cheese, chestnuts, honey, mushrooms and small berries.
Several cultural, musical, food-&-wine and sports events are also held here in the summer. Hiking, mountain-biking, fishing, dragonboating, swimming in the lakes, archery, orienteering and hang-gliding are some of the sports on offer for tourists.
The Ice Rink Pinè and the Palacurling in Cembra are internationally renowned sport centres attended both by great champions and by enthusiasts of speed, short-track and artistic skating, hockey, broomball, curling and archery. The two sport facilities are venues for training and competitions, as well as folk-shows and entertainment events for families.
The Santuario Mariano di Montagnaga is the most renowned religious Sanctuary in Trentino.
