Rovereto, the City of Peace, is the seat of many museums, including of the Mart (Modern and Contemporary Art Museum), one of the most important in Europe. The city also offers an interesting calendar of art and culture festivals.
The area boasts some of the finest castles in Trentino: the fortified citadel of Castel Beseno, and Castello di Sabbionara di Avio. In between, the castle of Rovereto, Castel Pietra, Castel Noarna, as well as many others.
This land truly abounds in attractions: wine & food are at their best thanks to Trentino's quality wines and grappas, its typical dishes to be enjoyed along the Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori (Road of Wines and Flavours), and in the many restaurants, wineries and distilleries scattered everywhere.
Numerous are the excursion paths for trekking on foot and on mountain-bike, both along the valley bottom as well as in the mountains. Of specific historical interest are the paths grouped under the headings Trekking della storia (History trekking), Sentiero della Pace (Peace Path), and the path of Dinosaur footprints.
Wines and flavours in Vallagarina, skiing and snowboarding on the Brentonico plateau
This area is a cornucopia of diverse qualities, ranging from its museums to its castles and quality wines. Skiing is the thing in the Polsa-San Valentino ski area on the Brentonico plateau. The slopes, interconnecting into a wide and varied carousel, are perfect for learning to ski and are sure to offer loads of skiing fun for everyone. Arriving from the south there are the ski resorts closest to the A22 Brenner motorway. The snow area also offers a snow park in Polsa, snow shoe routes, sled slopes and ice skating facilities in the converging valleys, the ruggedly beautiful Valli del Leno and Val di Gresta, Trentino's organic orchard.
Rovereto, the City of Peace, is the administrative centre of Vallagarina. It is the seat of many museums, including the Mart (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art), one of the most important in Europe. All offer permanent and special temporary exhibitions.

The village of Rovereto can easily be reached by the motorway (exit Rovereto Sud or Nord, distance 2 km), or the Brennero state road SS12 or the SP90 destra Adige road, the SS46 Pasubio, the SP 2 Terragnolo towards Serrada, the SP 50 Trambileno, SP 89 sinistra Leno and the SP 44 Isera.
Directly to the railway station of Rovereto, stop of all trains from north and south.
The nearest airports are Verona Catullo (90 km), Venice Marco Polo (195 km), Milan Linate (245 km) and the new airport in Bolzano (60 km).
