The Road of Wine and Flavours
Vallagarina's Roads of Wine and Flavours
Vallgarina is located in the southern part of the Valle dell'Adige. Its star product is the Marzemino, which is grown in its vineyards, amidst its picturesque hamlets and medieval castles. Apart from its wines, its other specialties include its horsemeat, the Vezzena cheese, cheeses from Monte Baldo, chestnuts from Castione and organic vegetables from Val di Gresta. This is a land rich in history and culture, and has skilfully maintained the nature and environment which surrounds it intact.
The Road of Wine and Flavours from the Garda Lake to the Brenta Dolomites
This is the most varied area of Trentino in terms of nature and the crops that are grown here. These range from traditional Mediterranean crops, such as olives, to typically alpine crops and products, such as the spressa cheese and ciuìga salami. Here food and wine meet sports - from hiking to skiing - and relaxation at the spas, and stand side by side with the culture and nature of the Brenta Dolomites and Lake Garda.
Road of Apples and Flavoursin the Val di Non and valle di Sole
Apples - the queens of every meal - are grown between the Brenta Dolomites and the Maddalene chain. Golden Delicious, Renetta Canada and Red Delicious are grown amid the castles, canyons and along the course of the River Noce. Since 2003, the products of the Strada della Mela e dei Sapori delle Valli di Non e Sole [Road of Apples and Flavours in the Val di Non and Valle di Sole] have been awarded the prestigious DOP certification. The range of products grown here is ample and varied, and includes pears, cherries, soft fruits and vegetables such as cabbages and potatoes, as well as the red wine "Groppelo di Revò". Food and wine fairs are held in the valley and have become a must for gourmands as well as for those who enjoy traditional flavours.
Road of Cheese of the Fassa, Fiemme and Primiero Dolomites
The Strada dei Formaggi delle Dolomiti [Road of Cheeses from the Dolomites] unfurls within a territory nestled amidst the mountains between rocky peaks, thick woods and ample meadows. Val di Fassa, Val di Fiemme and Val di Primiero boast a territory with a wealth of holiday destinations as well as delicious, quality food and wines. Here, cheeses meet the aromas of the meats, cold cuts, honey and beer made in the area. Each corner of the land is a bastion of age-old traditions and every flavour contains the taste of the culture of another age.
Road of Wine and Flavours in the Avisiane Hills, Faedo, Cembra Valley
Take a deep breath before you dive deep into the history of this road and its itinerary down the Via Claudia Augusta. This roman road was of great political and economic importance, as well as once being the route that connected the German and Latin worlds. Here, man has reshaped the landscape with terraces in order to adapt it to wine growing. Its mid-altitudes and sunlight have fostered and favoured the growth of soft fruits- a veritable temptation for gluttons.
Road of Wine and Flavours of the Piana Rotaliana
The Piana Rotaliana is the land of the prince of wines in Trentino: Teroldego Rotaliano DOC. Another product that is a symbol of this land is the asparagus from Zambana: white, delicate, subtle and with a one-of-a-kind taste. Every location in the Piana Rotaliana boasts its own traditional products: Trentino Grappa, Pinot Grigio and Red Delicious apples. The route is soon transformed into a hike along its paths and towns, providing visitors with the perfect way to explore and taste the many traditional products made in the area as well as its cellars and distilleries.
Trento & Valsugana Wine and Flavours Road
Halfway between the city and the mountains, this route allows visitors a quick glimpse into the history, culture and traditions of the area. The territory of Trento and its hills have given us the TRENTODOC Metodo Classico as well as other elegant still wines, smooth Trentino grappas and the characteristic flavour of the "warm" Parampampoli. Valsugana is the land of soft fruits, with their cherished and highly appreciated flavours. The journey soon becomes a delicious voyage with products such as lucanica sausages [a long, thin sausage], speck from Trento and alpine summer pasture cheeses.
