Adamello Brenta Nature Park
Covering an area of 620 sq. km full of naturalistic enchanting attractions, the Adamello Brenta Nature Park comprises, on the west side, the Trentino portion of the Adamello-Presanella range, the kingdom of water, with great glaciers, turbulent torrents, spectacular waterfalls and a myriad of small enchanting lakes. In the east, instead, the Park encompasses the magnificent Brenta Dolomites, now a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site: a succession of towering pinnacles, crags and huge sheer rock walls. Lying between these two different worlds are many picturesque valleys - like Val Genova and Val di Tovel - each with their own characteristic landscape.
Wonderful scenery is created by water like the incredible waterfalls of Val Genova or Vallesinella, the karstic springs of Stenico and dozens of lakes, among which Lake Tovel.
In 2008 the Adamello Brenta Nature Park was declared a Geopark, thus becoming part of the European Geoparks and the UNESCO Global Network of Geoparks: an important recognition of the extraordinary characteristics of its geological heritage, the strategy of sustainable development adopted and the initiatives implemented in the field of geotourism.
The Adamello-Brenta Nature Park is also home to the brown bear. It was recently reintroduced here as part of the "Life Ursus" project, together with deer, ibex, chamois and roe deer. The Park also contains rare and unique plants, wild berries and flowers, which adorn its forests and meadows.
The Adamello-Brenta Nature Park promotes:
• scientific research
• protecting and supporting the environment
• raising environmental awareness
• innovation and sustainable development
All tourist structures that meet the criteria established to safeguard the environment are members of the Club Qualità Parco. Choosing a Club member means making a conscious and responsible choice for the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park.
