Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio
Rabbi, Italy
One of the oldest parks in Italy, the Stelvio National Park hosts about 2,000 floral species and a wide range of wild animals.
The geographical centre of the protected area is Ortles Cevedale mountain range, the highest of historical Tyrol. The Park's wide extension grants a vast range of environment contexts, enriched by about 2,000 floral species and many different types of forests. While some of its areas are difficult to reach, others feature thick and varied conifer woods, vast plateaux, extensive pastures, Alpine lakes, wetlands, impervious rocky crests, glaciers. The co-existence of suche different ecological niches also favours the development of a large number of animal species.
