In Val di Fassa the Ladin Carnival is one of the most suggestive and popular event of its cultural tradition. Unique in their gender, the "Mascherèdes", burlesque and mocking plays, whose origins are to be found in the ancient Ladin everyday life and traditions. And the wooden masks used to distinguish the different characters of the Ladin Carnival heritage are of peculiar beauty and of great artistic interest.
