The Marcialonga will be back on January 29th, 2012
The Marcialonga of Fiemme and Fassa offers an exciting and unique sight with its 70 km track covered on skis through the fascinating landscapes of both valleys, making it the "Queen" of the long-distance races with narrow skis. Thousands of "bulls" (the nickname given to these long-distance racers) are preparing to attend the 39th edition that will be held on January 29th, 2012 along the traditional route from Moena to Cavalese, through Canazei, Predazzo, Lago di Tesero and finally along that last slope in Cascata which often makes the selection before the finish line. The Marcialonga has made the history of cross-country skiing in Trentino and Italy. A veritable crowd of long-distance racers and champions has taken part in this competition through the years. Next year's competition is expected to be as crowded and as spectacular as the last editions and, as in the past, it will be valid for the FIS Marathon Cup, the World Cup of the long-distance races.
