Termal waters and spas

Known since Roman times, many Trentino hot springs were frequented in the last century by the nobles of the House of Hapsburg who contributed to the spread of their fame. Thanks to the healing waters that flow from springs set into an attractive and relaxing surrounding, the spa activity is an important reality in the panorama of Trentino hospitality.
The major spas are Levico Terme, Vetriolo and Roncegno in Valsugana (arsenical-ferruginous waters), Pejo (carbon and sulphur waters) and Rabbi (waters rich in salt but without calcium sulphate and sparkling) in Valle di Sole. Comano in Outer Giudicarie is perhaps one of the most renowned centres for the treatment of the skin and the respiratory tract.
Immersion in the freshly cut and fermenting grass (grass or fitobalneotherapy baths) to ease the rheumatoid and post traumatic pathologies is possible in Garniga, a small village on the slopes of Monte Bondone, on which the miraculous grass is cut every morning.
