Located in the heart of Europe, the Alps extend over eight Nations: France, Italy, the Principality of Monaco, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, Austria and Slovenia.
This area is quite interesting due to its historical and cultural importance and lifestyles which can be discovered thanks to the important network of local, regional, and national trekking network offering pathways for all levels of trekkers and hikers.
The project for this pathway was created due to the initiative of the great French association - "La Grande Traversée des Alpes".
The Trentino region hosts two legs of this great crossover and some of the most challenging ones
with 17 Alpine mountain-huts concerned.
