Allstars Team 2012
A beautiful match, ended with a 1-1 draw thanks to the goals by "Spillo" Altobelli (14th minute, second half) and Michael Tarnat (25th minute, second half), in what really was a football lovers feast.
So much was the excitement around this event, that it spread to people of different ages, who were attending to cheer their heroes of yesterday. For the Black'n Blue team it was the absolute first outing.
A successful evening, just the ideal introduction to the summer retreat of the two first teams, with Fc Bayern Munich for the third year in a row training in Arco and Riva del Garda from 15 to 20 July, while coach Stramaccioni's Black'n Blue players will be in Pinzolo from 5 to 15 July for the second consecutive summer. Not only that: Napoli too chose our province to get their fill of oxygen in view of the upcoming season, from 10 to 23 July in Dimaro, as well as several other A and B teams who decided to recharge their batteries in Trentino.
In this match it was balance to win in the first half. The first 35 minutes showed a superlative Francesco Toldo: the former goalkeeper from Calcio Trento, Fiorentina and Inter was the author of five great saves, stopping the attacks of a Fc Bayern Munich (deprived at the very last minute of Brehme, but stronger because of Tarnat, a last-hour "recruit") capable of holding the game in its hand. The Black'n Blues did not stand by, and in the first half it was Altobelli who concluded twice his action to the German goal, where he always found Junghans, the goalkeeper, fully alert. Then it was the turn of a long ball by Carbone, just a little too high, and especially of the much applauded Luis Figo who got close to the goal with a nice progression that took him to be alone against the goalkeeper at the 11th minute, although the ball ended up on the goal's side. The second half opened with a more manoeuvering Fc Bayern Munich, stopped however by Toldo in two tasty occasions during the first minutes. At the 14th minute it was Inter who took the lead, with a beautiful descent by Centofanti on the right, who disengaged nicely and placed the ball at the far post where it met "Spillo" Altobelli's header for the 1-0 goal. Fc Bayern Munich tried to retaliate, kept the ball but made itself little dangerous in the Inter area - at least up to the 25th minute, when a long ball from the rear found Tarnat at the edge of the area: the former full-back disengaged nicely and met the diagonal left-footed cross going past Massaggi. In the last minutes, first Altobelli on penalty kick, then Centofanti with inroad from the left, had two good opportunities but wasted them. It all ended with a 1-1 score, no penalties and a promise of rematch at the next opportunity.
