Summer
Wonderful palaces and gardens, the charm of traditional hospitality and a mild climate all year around
At the end of the 19th century, the Hapsburg Archduke Albert defined Arco as a natural health clinic with its clean, crisp and healthy air. Shortly afterwards, several clinics were established, and baths, inhalations and heliotherapy can still be enjoyed in these same places today.
The Austrian domination of the area has left its mark in the town's gardens and parks, with its elegant liberty-style villas and beautiful palaces. The older part of the town features an enchanting series of worked stone portals and is located just a few kilometres away from Riva del Garda and its Lake.
The Arco Arboretum includes plants from four different continents, which can be admired along a route taking visitors through two public gardens and a romantic walk amongst olive groves before reaching the Medieval Castle. The Counts of Arco built their castle on top of a rocky peak in the middle of the Sarca Valley, overlooking the entire area.
