The excitement of a tour from mountain hut to mountain hut on the Altopiano delle Pale di San Martino
Take delight in culture, art, sport and relax, overlooking the astonishing Pale di San Martino
Located 730 meters above sea level, at the confluence of torrent Cismon with Canali in the wide valley at the foothills of the Pale di San Martino, Fiera di Primiero is so called because it was the main trade and administrative center of the whole valley in the fifteenth century. To this day, it is the perfect place to spend your summer holidays under the sign of fun outdoor activities, nature, hiking and mountain-biking.
Many cultural and recreational events are held in Fiera during the summer, such as “Concerti di mezza quota” and traditional folk events like “In giro per i filo”, a tour through the old barns, just to mention a few.
Although it is the smallest village of the valley, Fiera di Primiero boasts the greatest number of shops and boutiques with top brands, spas and typical restaurants and pubs. Palazzo delle Miniere is also worth visiting, an interesting example of Late-gothic architecture that served as the seat of the Judge of the Mines in the fifteenth century.
Furthermore, Fiera is home of engineer Luigi Negrelli, who realized the Suez Canal and designed many European railways and bridges. His birthplace is open to public.
With spectacular views of the Pale di San Martino, Fiera di Primiero is all sport and shopping
Located in the broad valley at the foot of the Pale di San Martino, Fiera di Primiero owes its name to the fact that, in the 15th century, it was the main administrative centre and venue of the largest fair held in the entire valley. Its central position and proximity to the skiing areas of San Martino di Castrozza, Passo Rolle and Primiero - Passo Cereda - with over 60 km of ski-runs - make it an ideal winter holiday resort. Skiing inside the Parco Naturale Paneveggio Pale di San Martino nature reserve is a truly unique experience!
A wide range of après-ski/after-skiing events and activities enhances the sport and relax holiday experience in this part of Trentino. Despite being the smallest town in the valley, Fiera di Primiero features the highest concentration of shops and boutiques with the best brands around, wellness centres and characteristic pubs and restaurants.
Another attraction is the Palazzo delle Miniere, a fascinating example of Late Gothic architecture, which in the 15th century served as the seat of the "Judge of the Mines".
Very few people know that Fiera is also the birthplace of Luigi Negrelli, planner of the Suez Canal and railroad pioneer. His birthplace has been turned into a museum and can be visited.
