The excitement of a tour from mountain hut to mountain hut on the Altopiano delle Pale di San Martino
Summer
Take delight in culture, art, sport and relax, overlooking the astonishing Pale di San Martino
Located 730 meters above sea level, at the confluence of torrent Cismon with Canali in the wide valley at the foothills of the Pale di San Martino, Fiera di Primiero is so called because it was the main trade and administrative center of the whole valley in the fifteenth century. To this day, it is the perfect place to spend your summer holidays under the sign of fun outdoor activities, nature, hiking and mountain-biking.
Many cultural and recreational events are held in Fiera during the summer, such as “Concerti di mezza quota” and traditional folk events like “In giro per i filo”, a tour through the old barns, just to mention a few.
Although it is the smallest village of the valley, Fiera di Primiero boasts the greatest number of shops and boutiques with top brands, spas and typical restaurants and pubs. Palazzo delle Miniere is also worth visiting, an interesting example of Late-gothic architecture that served as the seat of the Judge of the Mines in the fifteenth century.
Furthermore, Fiera is home of engineer Luigi Negrelli, who realized the Suez Canal and designed many European railways and bridges. His birthplace is open to public.
