Summer
A small Alpine lake deep in the woods, Lagolo is a relaxing corner on the slopes of mount Bondone
Lagolo is part of the municipality of Calavino and it is located in the Valle dei Laghi valley. Shaped by glacial erosion, the small karstic lake is in a green grassy basin surrounded by age-old beech trees. The people here believe that its water feature therapeutic properties for skin diseases.
In the winter, the lake is a popular ice-skating venue and in the summer you can swim and sunbathe in the beautiful meadows along the shore.
According to an old legend, the lake, which used to be in a higher position, got magically lowered down to hide the thick forest which is still visible underwater.
Today it is a well-equipped family-friendly area with playgrounds and kid entertainment during the tourist season. The area also feature hotels, typical restaurants and a wellness spa centre.
