Located at 1550 m in a beautiful basin between the Brenta Dolomites group and the Adamello and the Presanella glaciers, Madonna di Campiglio is one of the most famous resorts of Trentino, as well as Val Rendena's "driving force" underlying tourism development. Launched as a tourist centre in the second half of the 20th Century - yet already an holiday resort much loved by the noble and rich Austrian and Mitteleuropean middle class in the 19th century - it has featured celebrity guests such as Princess Sissi and the Emperor Franz Joseph.
Madonna di Campiglio is the perfect destination for ski and winter sports lovers. Yet thanks to the excellent incoming facilities, the natural setting offering unique landscapes, and the family-friendly kid-oriented activities organized, the opportunities on offer for tourists are numerous and high-quality also in the summer.
You can explore the most classic Dolomite paths and the Adamello Brenta Natural Reserve that surrounds the area, offering to hiking and mountain-bike lovers a total of 450 km mountain trails. Just a small walk from the tewn-centre and you will find yourselves surrounded by lakes, valleys, brooks, Alpine summer pastures, mountain huts resting at the foot of the majestic Brenta Dolomites.

Car:
Madonna di Campiglio can easily be reached from north and south on the Brennero state road 12 or the motorway A22 (exit Trento Center, 70 km distance from the toll gate), then on the Caffaro state road SS 237; or from east-west on the motorway Milano-Venice (exit Brescia east), then on the Caffaro state road SS 237, then on the SS 239.
Public transport:
There are bus services from the railway station Trento to Tione-Pinzolo-Madonna di Campiglio; or coming from the other direction by train to Brescia and then by bus to Tione-Pinzolo-Madonna di Campiglio.
Airplane:
The nearest airports are Catullo in Verona (90 km distance), Marco Polo in Venice (195 km), Milano Linate (245 km) and the new airport in Bolzano (60 km).
