Relaxation, sport and nature in Molveno, with its gorgeous beach awarded 5 sails in Guida Blu published by the Italian Touring Club and Legambiente in 2012
Molveno lies along the shores of its lake, with a beautiful beach wonderfully equipped for sport and relaxation. The Italian Touring Club and Legambiente drew up a list of the best beaches in Italy and published it in the tenth issue of Guida Blu 2012. Lake Molveno and its green beach overlooked by the Brenta Group got five sails, the highest acknowledgement given to 14 places (9 seaside and 5 lakeside towns) in Italy.
Molveno was also awarded the tourism's official mark of quality Bandiera Arancione by the Touring Club of Italy, for its unspoiled nature and its historico-cultural heritage. The second largest lake in surface and volume in Trentino, Lake Molveno stands out for its clear waters and is the perfect base station for hiking tours in the Brenta Group and the Adamello Brenta Nature Park.
Easily accessible via cable car, the Pradel plateau (1400 metres) is a starting point for many trails and climbing routes, including legendary Sentiero delle Bocchette. Molveno is perfect for engaging in all sorts of sporting activities: tennis, swimming , archery, bowling, mountain biking, paragliding, roller skating, miniature golf, soccer, volleyball, sailing, windsurfing, fishing and rock climbing. Forest Park adventure trails tours on the Pradel plateau are also great fun for the whole family. Boat trips and pleasant walks on the shores of Lake Molveno are advisable for those seeking utmost relaxation. Don’t miss a chance to visit the Gothic church of St. Vigil and the ancient sawmill Taialacqua, dating back to sixteenth century, recently renovated and still water-powered by the Rio dei Molini.

Car:
Molveno can easily be reached from south and north on the Brennero state road 12 or the motorway A22 (exit San Michele all´Adige, toll gate 43 km). Alternatively it is possible to leave the motorway A22 in trento Nord and drive along the new road Trento Nord-Rocchetta, direction Mezzolombardo, then turn left on the provincial road 64 towards Fai della Paganella, Andalo and Molveno (20 km), or on the SS 421 towards Spormaggiore and Cavedago to Andalo (21 km). Or from Val Giudicarie on the SS 421 towards S. Lorenzo in Banale to Molveno.
Public transport:
To the railway station Trento or to Mezzocorona and then by bus to Molveno.
Airplane:
The nearest airports are Catullo in Verona (90 km distance), Marco Polo in Venice (195 km), Milano Linate (245 km) and the new airport in Bolzano (60 km).
