A mountain plateau and a pass surrounded by meadows, mountain dairies and flowers
Brocon Pass is located between the Vanoi and Tesino valleys at 1616 metres a.s.l. It is a broad open mountain pass, which is flat for about 4 km and looks like a small plateau. Of great strategic importance historically, it still houses the remains of underground bunkers and trenches dug by the Austrian soldiers during World War I.
In the summertime, the Pass features interesting Nordic walking and other hiking opportunities, offering beautiful views surrounded by pastures and mountain dairies, where milk is manufactured to make PDO cheese, such as Asiago and Grana Padano. One of the most attractive routes is the so-called Trodo dei Fiori, a sort of path in the numerous botanical species found of the area.
Brocon Pass is an ideal destination for families, hikers and nature lovers in general.
