Enjoy fascinating hikes among the pine woods of the Upper Val di Non
The Mendola Pass (1363 m) is an important tourist destination overlooked by the Monte Roen (2116 m) and the Penegal (1737 m). Surrounded by striking pine woods, the Mendola Pass looks out over the Eastern part of the Dolomites as well as over the peaks of the Brenta, Ortles and Passirie Alps to the west. In the past the area used to feature one single inn to host travellers. However, after the road was built and completed in 1885, it opened to tourism and became a holiday destination for the Hapsburg court. The 18th century aura of the "Belle Epoque" still hangs on here, and gets perceived by admiring its characteristic buildings in Mitteleuropean style.
Caldaro and its fascinating lake can be reached by the cable railway - built at the turn of the century, it has recently undergone refurbishing works. Striking hikes can also be enjoyed from Mendola Pass, such as those leading to Monte Roen or Monte Penegal, with its enchanting views from its panoramic towers.
The area is also equipped with a programmed snow system, equipment rental and ski instructors for a sport and relax full-immersion during the winter season.

Accessible from both north and south by means of the Brennero highway SS 12 or the A22 motorway (exit San Michele all'Adige); alternatively from the south, leave the A22 from the Trento Nord exit and take the new Trento Nord-Rocchetta fast link towards Mezzolombardo. Continue on the highway SS 43.

The nearest railway station is Trento (Munich-Rome, Valsugana-Trento-Venice); train Trento-Malé.

The nearest airports are Catullo in Verona (90 km distance), Marco Polo in Venice (195 km), Milano Linate (245 km), Orio al Serio in Bergamo (180 km), Gabriele d'Annunzio in Brescia (135 km) and the new airport in Bolzano (60 km).
