Summer
The perfect altitude for your heart and for wild berries
An evocative road climbs up the right-hand side of the Valle dei Mocheni from Pergine Valsugana to the town of Sant'Orsola Terme (925 m a.s.l.). This town is especially renowned for its deep and extensive cultivation of small fruits: strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, currants and blueberries.
The characteristic mountain farms scattered here and there on the sunny and gentle slope, offer accommodation, along with a number of private apartments, a few hotels and 2 restaurants that cook typical local dishes.
At the local shops you can purchase the small fruits of the Sant'Orsola farm - now sold throughout Italy - honey made from mountain wild flowers, from acacias and rhododendrons, flavoured schnapps and blends for herbal teas.
A large number of former mountain trails have now become routes for hikes and mountain-bike rides. The "Masi Alti" tour starts from the town and reaches the most characteristic farmer houses of the area. There is also a route running along the Fersina stream and reaching the old sawmill, the grinding mills and one of the oldest mines of the valley - leaving visitors with the impression of being in an open-air museum.
