Ice skating, with other ice sports from skittles to curling and ice hockey, is the real highlight of winter on the Altopiano di Piné. Ice stadium - Ice Rink Piné: The building features a 30 m x 60 m indoor rink, open both in winter and summertime, and a 400 m long outdoor ice track for speed skating. It is actually among the ten fastest tracks in the world. Since it opened in 1986, Ice Rink Pinè has been the venue of numerous international and European speed skating trophy competitions. The curling stadium in Cembra opened in 2006 and is the ideal location to host the Italian championships, as well as international curling and wheelchair-curling competitions and events. There is also the possibility to practice some cross-country skiing in the track near the Ice Rink in Piné.
