Hay baths
Garniga is known as the queen of herbs for a reason. It is surrounded by an Alpine and medicinal herb garden in which arnica, St. John's wort, thyme, dandelions, thistles, pasque flowers and gentians grow. Moreover, the vast majority of officinal and medicinal herbs used in treatments grow in the Viotte basin, at the foot of Monte Bondone. Here, traditional country remedies with ancient origins and the natural properties of Trentino's mountains are used according to the latest dictates of modern medical science to treat and care for the body.
Terme di Garniga specialises in herbal treatments and in herbal baths in particular. When using this type of treatment, patients are immersed in a herbal bath undergoing fermentation, which reaches temperatures of between 50° and 60°. In this case, the difference compared to hay baths - which are older - lays in the use of a mixture of fresh, carefully selected herbs. Treatment is completed with physiotherapeutic massages.
Treatments using medicinal herbs are used to cure a wide range of disorders, particularly rheumatic pains, osteoarthrosis caused by damaged cartilages, arthritis, rheumatisms and traumatism, as well as degenerative bone disorders. They are also recommended as a treatment for skin ailments. These treatments detoxify the body and relax muscles, as well as being an excellent way of combating cellulite and water retention.
