MEDIA SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE

The mission of the Media PR area of Trentino Marketing is to foster the interest of national and international media regarding Trentino, both online and offline, using a series of activities that range from support, planning and organising press trips (both individual and group trips) to the prompt reply to specific requests for content, and to supply publications, ideas, contacts and pictures.

PRESS TRIPS:

Trentino Marketing is pleased to welcome and support journalists who wish to describe Trentino as a venue for tourists. It organises, in partnership with the region’s Tourist Boards (APTs) and local partners, individual and group press trips, even by single request, subject to verification. Each itinerary is tailored to the applicant’s specific needs and designed to exalt the Trentino region’s characteristics and peculiarities.

Requisites for participation

Press trips are intended for national and international journalists working for newspapers, radios and TV broadcasting companies. In order to participate, the usual requirement is that the applicant is in possession of a confirmed assignment by a newspaper’s editorial office. The article/program is required to be published/broadcast within 12 months following the trip.

Please consider that Trentino Marketing can support only the media that cover the targets and main corporate reference markets.

Organization of trips

The press trips organised by Trentino Marketing usually envisage maximum 4 days of activity, with 3 overnight stays. The expenses for room, board and activities (as specified in each trip program) will be charged to Trentino Marketing.

As regards transport, Trentino Marketing will pay for any flight tickets (mainly using low cost airlines) or for railway trips to and from Trentino, as well as for transfers to/from the airport (possibly by hire car or public transport) and within the province.

Trentino Marketing will not be held responsible for any delayed or cancelled return flights. In that case, the journalist will have to contact the airline directly and pay any additional charges. In the case of individual press trips, a hire car will be provided (fuel, extras and motorway toll charges not included).

Trentino Marketing will not cover the expenses for any travel companions or family members accompanying the journalist.

In order to be able to evaluate each single request and ensure the best travel conditions, journalists are requested to contact us at least two weeks prior to their planned arrival in Trentino.

The data shall be processed as described in the following Information Notice.

Insurance

Journalists are required to have the adequate skills and experience for outdoor activities, consistent with the type of activities planned. Each participant is also expected to hold currently valid insurance against personal injury and against damage to property and persons.

Each single participant will be held exclusively responsible for all transfers required to reach the destinations of the press trip, and also for holding insurance against damage to property and/or persons, theft included.

Suggested attire

In the event that the press trip envisages outdoor activities, the lack of suitable attire may result in exclusion from participation. Following are a few suggestions regarding what is ‘required’ on a press trip in Trentino:

  • In winter: warm and comfortable outdoor wear, shoes suited for the activity planned. We normally locally rent all of the equipment required for skiing or for other winter sports.
  • Mountain excursions: shoes suitable for trekking, and a wind-proof jacket in the event of bad weather.

And, after you visit Trentino, please …

  • Include in your article/program the official link of the Trentino website - www.visittrentino.info - as well as those of the websites of the local APTs that are partners of the press trip
  • For those working with the social networks, share your story on the various channels using the hashtag #visittrentino, #trentinowow and on Twitter, menzionando@visittrentino
  • Send us a copy of the article as soon as it is published.
